Comparatively fairly quickly, we are moving towards Jupiter’s next transit in Capricorn on 30^th March, 2020. As I see, Jupiter’s transit in Capricorn will be the most important transit during 2020-21 as it will be joining Saturn in Capricorn. So, two of the most important planets are going to remain in same sign during this period. So, here is my take or understanding of this transit. At the outset, I may repeat that events in our life happen as per collective impact of all planets. One planet transiting in any sign neither going to make you King nor Beggar, but this one planet’s transit will certainly contribute its mite into the collective impact. Hence, it is important to know what Jupiter’s contribution in the total. 

Also, Jupiter is the biggest and most expansive planet among all. Its transits last for about 13 months. This is a considerably long time in comparison to other transits we have of Sun, Moon, Mercury & Venus. So, if a big planet like Jupiter is transiting in one sign for about one year, it is going to make some impact to Human Life. This article is little effort to get an idea of impact. 

Also during 2020, Saturn and Nodes are changing their signs. All these are big transits which last for more than an year at least. Plus it will be an year of retrogrades when all 5 planets are going to retrograde. We will surely look into the details of those transits in 2020 through different articles and posts, but we have to understand that Jupiter’s results will be impacted by other transits and vice-versa. Jupiter’s current transit – Somehow my approach in Astrology is about experience. So, if a book says something about a planetary position but person having that planetary position didn’t experience what book says then after doing in-depth analysis and seeing all possible reasons, I will prefer to be on the side of person rather than Book as what he is saying is about his own experience. We can’t deny that. So, before looking into what Jupiter in Capricorn will do, it is important to see what Jupiter is currently doing in Sagittarius? So, from Nov, 2019 onwards, Jupiter is in Sagittarius. It has made people more inclined towards higher education and knowledge gain. Jupiter’s transit in Mula has helped people in gaining occult knowledge and to uncover the mysteries of their past. Needless to say that fundamentalism was on a high during that time. So, we can say that Jupiter has given us relevant results even in this short term of 3 months. Hence, we can expect Jupiter’s next transit also to impact us equally.

Jupiter - Jupiter is the most benefic planet and it represents all the auspicious things like Knowledge, Wisdom, Law, Guru, Spirituality, Religion, Philosophy, Literature, Expansion of Things and Elderly People. For a girl, Jupiter also represents Husband.

Capricorn - Capricorn is the 10th sign of Zodiac Belt, hence it represents many things related with 10th house of horoscope like Law and Order, Government, Authority, Organisation, Discipline etc. Besides it also represents World outside your home and people, Fear and Anxiety etc. Capricorn is consisted of next 2 and half Nakshatra, i.e. Uttar-Ashadha, Shravana and Dhanishtha. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and that's why it represents Fear and Anxiety.

Transit Period – Jupiter will be in Capricorn between 30^th Mar, 2020 to 30^th June, 2020. Then it will be in Capricorn between 20^th Nov, 2020 to 6^th Apr, 2021 and then finally, it will be in Capricorn between 14^th Sep, 2021 to 20^th Nov, 2021.

Retrograde Period - Jupiter will be retrograde in Capricorn from 15^th May, 2020 to 30^th June, 2020 and then from 14^th Sep, 2021 to 17^th Oct, 2021. This means that Jupiter will be closer to Earth during this time. So, the results stated herein will be felt with greater intensity during this time. As Jupiter represents belief systems, this is also the time when we will reflect back at our belief system, teachings or Guru.

Meaning of Jupiter in Capricorn – Wherever Jupiter goes, it brings the knowledge and wisdom to that sign/house. It makes us learn things related to that sign/house. So, when Jupiter is in Capricorn, we can see following results –

• Now, most important thing is Jupiter is debilitated here. It is losing its dignity. So, we cannot expect Jupiter to give us its best results as the most beneficial planet. Most of its benefic results will be reduced and may come after hard work, perseverance and frustration.

• One more thing is that Jupiter will be in Capricorn at different times sporadically (transit will be completed in 3 different periods). What it does is that it reduces the intensity of transit and its results. Like, Jupiter transiting in 1 sign for 13 months continuously can give more potential and prominent results in comparison to Jupiter transiting in 1 sign for a few months in an year. So, this will further reduce the intensity and results of Jupiter in Capricorn transit.
• Now, common theme with Jupiter, Saturn and Capricorn is Law. They all represent Law. So, Jupiter’s next transit can be all about following Law and Legal process. It is not only about Statutory Law but we will be more inclined to follow legal ways or else we will be made to follow.
• People can be inclined to pursue Legal Career, Litigations and word of Courts will hold high importance. Understand that we are entering in this phase after Stellium in Sagittarius which caused lots of conflicts in belief matters. Now, this can be the time to decide those conflicts.
• As Jupiter is karaka of family life, conflicts and litigation related with family matters can be on a high.
• As Jupiter represents health issues related with fat, liver & arteries and Saturn itself represents misery & illness, people need to be careful in matters of health issues related with Jupiter.
• As Saturn remains the most malefic planet and it is with Jupiter, which represents belief system, we can still see fundamentalism and rigidness in matters of belief system on a high. Morality levels of societies can go down.
• Although, debilitated Jupiter is getting a Neech Bhang Raaj Yoga due to Saturn in own sign but it is only going to help in professional life. In personal/relationship life, it looks like a tough time. Even in professional life, Saturn’s presence with Jupiter ensures that only those people would get results who are ready to follow Saturn’s ways of delay, hard work and perseverance.
• This transit will make Cancer/Capricorn axis as important one as both these signs will be impacted by Jupiter-Saturn conjunction. So, we can expect events related to the houses where these two signs are falling in chart.
• Overall, this transit shows more results on professional fronts rather than personal front.

Jupiter’s Aspects – We will only cover the house Jupiter will transit as per the Ascendant as the biggest impact will be there. But we need to be careful about Jupiter’s Aspect during this transit. Jupiter will aspect 5th house, 7th house and 9th house from its house of transit and impact those houses. Especially when Jupiter’s transit is not looking too great, we are left with a hope from Jupiter’s aspects as Jupiter’s aspect is always benefic, even if Jupiter is debilitated at exact degree. So, we need to keep an eye on where it is aspecting from Capricorn in your chart. Now, Jupiter will be transiting alongside Saturn in 12th house of Foreign Lands, Spirituality, Losses and Closures. Whenever any major planet transits 12th house, it is closing time. So, understand like this. As Saturn-Jupiter move each house of chart during different transits, they block/delay some results of each house. This will be a transit where they will be focused on making good gains and income as they may feel lack of resources. They will be focused of their elder siblings due to some stress or illnesses, if any. They will have to work hard so that they can earn and gain more in their ventures, as 11th house also relate with Entrepreneurship. There will be no easy gains. 11th house also relates with Large Organizations. They can also relocate to a new place as 11^th house is 8^th from 4^th house, i.e. change in home. Conclusion – As Jupiter is transiting alongside Saturn in Saturn ruled sign Capricorn where it is debilitated, most of the results are of Saturnian nature. It is like the results of Saturn transiting in Capricorn. At least I am not expecting much benefits coming from this Jupiter’s transit in Capricorn. Only benefits we can expect is through Jupiter aspecting houses where Taurus, Cancer and Virgo falls in chart.
