Transit of Mars in Aquarius, 2026
From 23rd Feb, Mars will begin its next transit of about 45 days in the sign of Aquarius. This transit will continue till 2nd April, 2026. Although it is only a 45-day transit, if we view it along with other current planetary transits, it is better to be proactive in dealing with this period. So, here are some results we can expect during this transit:
1. First of all, Mars is considered an enemy of Saturn. However, since Mars is exalted in Saturn-ruled Capricorn, theoretically it is going to be neutral in Aquarius. Still, Mars is functioning under the energy of Saturn, which is never considered pleasant. Moreover, if we observe other transits happening simultaneously, we cannot consider this an easy transit.
2. Mars’s actions and efforts may face restriction, limitation, or the repetitive influence of Saturn. Mars wants to achieve everything quickly, and in Saturn’s dictionary, there is nothing called “quick results.” Hence, a Saturn–Mars energy exchange always makes us put in our best efforts repeatedly to achieve results. Outcomes or fruits of actions will be received, but only after immense hard work, delay, and perseverance. This combination often creates frustration, as a person may have to put in extra effort for limited results. It requires patience to achieve anything. As I always say, the best phrase to understand Mars–Saturn energy exchange is “Hurdle Race.” You want to reach somewhere very quickly (Mars), but the end result comes only after crossing many hurdles or barriers (Saturn).
3. Here, I think it is better to discuss the immense malefic impact taking place in the Aquarius sign now and in the near future:
A. Rahu’s transit has been in Aquarius since May 2025.
B. Along with this, Saturn in Pisces and Ketu in Leo are creating a Maraka impact on Aquarius — https://www.astrosaxena.com/articles/MarakaImpactonAquariusSignduring2025and2026
C. The Sun will enter Aquarius on 13th Feb, where Mercury and Venus will already be transiting, and it will stay there till 14th March. This period will also include the Solar Eclipse date (18/19 Feb). So, we must take care regarding eclipse results as well — https://www.astrosaxena.com/articles/eclipses
D. Finally, Mars will enter Aquarius on 23rd Feb. So, all malefic planets will be impacting at least one sign and one house of the chart for at least about 20 days. Normally, this is not an ideal scenario when all malefics are influencing one area of life.
E. Needless to say, the Jeeva Karakas of that house will be more negatively impacted than the Ajeeva Karaka.
F. Therefore, we need to be very careful about the area of life where Aquarius falls in our charts, regardless of dashas and other transits. This is the time when malefic impact on Aquarius will be at its peak. Maybe that is why I am posting this article well in advance, so we can proactively prepare ourselves.
4. Aquarius is the sign of serving humanity, new-age technology, and innovation. The best use of this transit is to direct our energy and actions toward serving humanity through our work and to persevere there. As Mars, Rahu, Sun, and Saturn are all work-oriented planets, this transit can give results mainly in professional matters. It may create trouble if we expect people in our relationships to give us desired outcomes.
5. However, such a huge malefic energy in Aquarius can also indicate frustration or anger. This anger or frustration may be directed toward the house or people where Aquarius falls in your chart. We must be careful in dealing with people and avoid venting our anger on others. This energy can be redirected into physical activities like sports, dancing, exercise, jogging, or walking. As mentioned, we can also channel this energy into serving people going through difficulties anywhere in the world.
6. Mars represents accidents and bloodshed. Being under the impact of many malefics — in addition to being malefic itself — we need to be cautious about accidents or injuries, especially if Mars is transiting Dushthana houses or the 4th house. Since Aquarius is an Air sign, it is better to avoid unnecessary travel during this period, especially air travel.
7. The best use of the Mars-in-Aquarius transit is when we redirect our energy toward serving others or a higher cause. If we use this energy to fulfill expectations from people in our lives, it can become a frustrating transit.
There are also a few additional joint impacts created by Mars’s transit in Aquarius:
a. Mars’s 4th aspect will fall on Taurus, where Saturn is already casting its aspect. This is an aspect of taking control and again shows a Mars–Saturn tussle. Wherever Taurus falls in the chart, we may feel inclined to take control of that area of life, but due to Saturn’s aspect, it may require significant hard work to achieve desired results.
b. All planets in Aquarius will have their 7th aspect on Leo. Ketu is already transiting Leo, leading to excessive malefic impact on Leo as well. We need to be very proactive and careful in matters related to the house where Leo falls in the chart.
c. Mars’s 8th aspect will be on Virgo. Saturn is also aspecting Virgo from Pisces. Two strong malefic planetary energies come together again. This indicates that matters related to the house where Virgo falls can become stressful and unstable. Perfectionist tendencies in dealing with people may lead to conflicts.
As discussed, this Mars transit in Aquarius coincides with the Eclipse month — https://www.astrosaxena.com/articles/eclipses. We should already be careful about our health, ego clashes, and issues with authority figures. With the eclipse combining with this difficult transit, we need to be extremely cautious in our relationships, or ego clashes can arise easily.
Focus on work, business, entrepreneurship, and service to people in order to get the best results.
Gratitude!!!
